Changing the world is possible. We’ve done it before.

We will shape our solutions
from the ground up - starting
at the community level

Climate change, and the disruptions that it will cause, are novel problems that require novel solutions.

Our goal is to develop community-based antifragile integrated enterprises, sharing teams and resources so that we can mitigate climate change independent of the global seismic shifts we are facing. The changing climate, evolving energy markets, supply chain disruptions, and global stability pose threats to meeting climate change goals. Unfortunately, few organizations are optimized for these disruptions. Still, our model takes advantage of these disruptions through an antifragile framework meant to thrive under the uncertain conditions the changing world will bring.

Filling a market niche by focusing on low-cost & community-based solutions to societal and environmental problems.

Under standard global economic practices, companies engage in maximum rent seeking behavior. This often leads to many viable, economically efficient solutions ending up on the cutting room floor. By building solutions based around these “scraps”, we will engage with a less wealthy segment of the market that is more representative of the global middle class. Since climate change is a global challenge - not a challenge you can solve only by engaging the most lucrative end of the income distribution curve - it is essential that we not let these “scraps” go to waste.

By incorporating permaculture, sustainable housing, and distributed manufacturing solutions, we can build a system designed around the community.

Our model embraces concepts of the circular economy to improve the quality of life in harmony with the adaptive systems that nature has engineered over millions of years. We can maximize our use of existing stocks of materials harvested from waste streams, utilize sustainable local resource stocks, and incorporate resilient Nature Based Solutions (NBS) to reduce our carbon footprints’ while bringing jobs back to rural communities.

Reimagining Organizational Structure: Reducing power distance to encourage free discussion, exploration and collaboration in the pursuit of solutions

Diverse teams from various backgrounds and specialties will collaborate across levels on the many wicked problems that our world faces, bringing unique perspectives and a more complete picture to the engineering design process. Through this working environment, our employees will pick up additional knowledge and skills outside their area of focus with each new project they collaborate on.

Returning to the glory days of research & development
with updates and features for the 21st century.

Due to the scope and complexity of our problem sets, it is essential that we utilize a framework similar to that used by Bell Labs’ during the 20th century. By focusing on discovery in general - rather than setting out to solve one specific problem for low cost and maximum profit - we will tap into the ingenuity we are all capable of and harvest it on a massive scale.

Changing the world is possible. We’ve done it before.

Through the startup phase of our venture, we will test pilot programs and conduct applied research around regenerative agricultural systems, sustainable construction methods, and distributed manufacturing with an emphasis on using sustainable local resources in addition to recycled components and materials harvested from waste streams.

Humans like to apply brute force to solve problems, but nature has been researching and developing tools to survive dramatic ecological changes for 3.7 billion years. Many solutions to our biggest challenges have been solved long ago in the natural world, we just haven’t been looking and appreciating how many solutions can come from working to understand how the complex systems of life on this planet are integrated and function in a delicate balance.

I am setting out on this path having devoted the past year to dissecting and researching the greatest challenge that our species has ever faced.

I’ve read over 100 books and countless research papers to break down and understand climate change in the context of our changing world. Current increasing economic and geopolitical complexities, the historical evolution of energy’s role in human development, labor economics, urban economics, anthropology, ecology, and a vast review of the sciences all have led me towards an understanding of what is needed to seize this opportunity and not just solve one crisis facing humanity, but deconstruct the interrelated systems and processes that have brought us here. This broad perspective is essential in order to produce lasting and efficient systemic alternatives which will enable us to build a better future.

As a multipotentialite, I’m obsessed with growing my knowledge continually on a broad range of topics. This enables me to view complex problems through many points of view, versus through the single lens of one particular specialty.

My broad understanding of these many disciplines allows me to put the complex picture into focus and develop a model and growth path that will enable me to put experts to work in the most efficient and effective way possible.

It is my profound hope that we can all benefit from a better way of life by creating globally accessible, resilient solutions that minimize the disruptions we will be forced to face in the coming decades.
